
Actor Lee Jun-young will appear in a Japanese film alongside Takuya Kimura and Yuu Aoi.
On the 8th, Lee Jun-young's agency, Billions, announced that Lee Jun-young will star in the new film <Tokyo Taxi> by the master of Japanese cinema, director Yoji Yamada. According to the agency, Lee Jun-young has completed all filming, and the film is set to be released in Japan on November 21.
<Tokyo Taxi> is based on the French film <Taxi de Paris> (UNE BELLE COURSE), which gained great popularity in Japan in 2022. It is a touching human drama that depicts the regrets and reconciliations faced at the end of life against the backdrop of Tokyo, which changes with the flow of time. Director Yoji Yamada, who has over 60 years of directing experience, is a veteran who has presented more than 90 works, widely known for films such as <The Yellow Handkerchief of Happiness> (1977), <Twilight Samurai> (2002), and <Tokyo Family> (2013).
<Tokyo Taxi> features top stars representing Japan, including Takuya Kimura, Chieko Baisho, Yuu Aoi, and Takaya Sakoda. Lee Jun-young plays the role of Kim Young-ki, the first love of the protagonist Sumire (Chieko Baisho) in her youth, and is expected to have a deep emotional connection with Yuu Aoi.
