The KPop-themed animated series on Netflix, 〈KPop Demon Hunters〉 has entered the upper ranks of the Billboard main chart thanks to its global popularity with its soundtrack (OST) album.

On the 29th (local time), Billboard announced through a chart preview article that the 〈KPop Demon Hunters〉 OST album debuted at 8th place on the main album chart 'Billboard 200'. This album recorded a total of 31,000 album units.

'Billboard 200' ranks albums based on physical album sales, streaming counts converted to album sales (SEA), and digital download counts converted to album sales (TEA).

According to industry insiders, the 〈KPop Demon Hunters〉 OST is recorded as the soundtrack with the highest debut performance this year and the first animated soundtrack to enter the 'Top 10'. During this chart aggregation period, it showed SEA of 27,000, album sales of 3,000, and TEA of 1,000.

The album includes various songs such as 'Take Down' and 'Golden' by the popular KPop girl group 'HuntRix' in the animation, and 'Soda Pop' by the competing boy group 'Lion Boys'. Notably, 'Take Down' also features a version with TWICE's Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung.

The popularity of 〈KPop Demon Hunters〉 has been confirmed not only on Billboard but also on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.

On Spotify's June 28th 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart, 'Golden' ranked 7th, 'Your Idol' ranked 11th, and 'Soda Pop' 17th, while 'How It's Done' ranked 19th, with 8 OST tracks entering the top 100. Additionally, on the 'Daily Top Songs US' chart, 'Your Idol' ranked 6th, 'Golden' ranked 8th, with a total of 7 songs making it into the top 60.
