IU and Byun Woo-seok's '21st Century Great Lady' to Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin's 'Liar'... MBC Reveals 26-Year Drama Lineup

The veil of next year's MBC dramas has been lifted.

On the 16th, MBC revealed the lineup of dramas scheduled to air in 2026. It starts with the drama 〈Judge Lee Han-young〉 starring Ji Sung and Park Hee-soon, which will kick off on January 2. 〈Judge Lee Han-young〉 is a drama about a corrupt judge, Lee Han-young (Ji Sung), who returns to ten years ago after living as a slave to a giant law firm, making a new choice to confront the evil represented by Kang Shin-jin (Park Hee-soon) and implement justice.

The drama 〈Your Brilliant Season〉 is also preparing to launch. It is an unpredictable romance about a man named 'Chan' (Chae Jong-hyeop) who lives every day like an exciting summer vacation and a woman named 'Ran' (Lee Sung-kyung) who has locked herself in winter, meeting by fate and awakening frozen time. Following that, IU and Byun Woo-seok's 〈21st Century Great Lady〉 is set against the backdrop of a constitutional monarchy in the 21st century, focusing on the fate-breaking romance of a woman, Seong Hee-joo (IU), who is a wealthy heiress but is frustrated by her commoner status, and a sad man, Lee An-daegun (Byun Woo-seok), who is a prince but can possess nothing.

〈Fifties Professionals〉 tells the story of three seemingly ordinary men who are moved by fate, despite being worn down by the world. It is a gritty action comedy about real professionals who have run 50% of their lives, where loyalty and instinct remain intact. Shin Ha-kyun, Oh Jung-se, and Heo Sung-tae will team up to present a blend of action and comedy.

The drama 〈Wife Killer〉, set to air in the second half of the year, depicts the struggles of a working mom with the most dangerous job in the world, trying to maintain work-life balance. Yoo Bo-na (Gong Hyo-jin), a five-year housewife with a husband and a four-year-old daughter, is a killer who eliminates heinous criminals. After finishing her three-year maternity leave, she returns to work, navigating the tumultuous daily life with her family and her perilous profession in this life-immersed action drama.

〈Liar〉 is a psychological thriller where two men and women fiercely clash over opposing claims regarding a single memory. The lead roles are played by Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin, who reunite after 〈Romantic Doctor Kim Sa-bu〉, drawing attention. Meanwhile, 〈Your Ground〉 is a youth romance about a baseball player (Gong Myung) who stops due to a single setback and meets an agent (Han Hyo-joo) who is a former lawyer, starting his journey back to the field.

The 2026 MBC Friday-Saturday drama will kick off with 〈Judge Lee Han-young〉 starring Ji Sung, Park Hee-soon, and Won Jin-ah, premiering on January 2.
