Webtoon·Web Novel Based Anime 'Digger King' to Air in Japan from July

The web novel and webtoon that gained great popularity ‘Digger King’ is being released as an animation.

According to Kakao Entertainment on the 19th, Kakao Entertainment's representative popular IP 'Digger King' is being released as an animation. The currently in-production animation 〈Digger King〉 will air in July on major broadcasters such as Fuji TV and Kansai TV in Japan, and will also be simultaneously presented through Korean Anime Plus and global streaming platforms.

The production of 〈Digger King〉 is handled by the Korean animation production company Studio EEK, well-known for works like 〈The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly〉 and the 〈Mystic Pop-up Bar〉 series. The voice cast is composed of actors who are active in various popular animations. The protagonist, Seo Joo-hun, will be voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya, who has performed as Reiner Braun in 〈Attack on Titan〉 and Kaigaku in 〈Demon Slayer〉. The heroine, Irene Holton, will be voiced by Saori Hayami, who played Shinobu Kocho in 〈Demon Slayer〉 and Yor Forger in 〈Spy Family〉. Additionally, Junichi Suwabe, who has been active in roles such as Ryomen Sukuna in 〈Jujutsu Kaisen〉 and Yami Sukehiro in 〈Black Clover〉, will portray the weighty villain Kwon Tae-jun in the work.

In addition, singer QWER will sing the official OST opening song ‘SHOW DOWN’ for the animation 〈Digger King〉, raising expectations. A portion of the song was revealed through the Japanese PV (Promotional Video) released on the 16th, and it will be officially released thereafter.
