The 〈Evangelion〉 returns with a new story for its 30th anniversary.
Recently, the popular Japanese animation series 〈Evangelion〉 held a 30th anniversary celebration and finally announced a new work that contains a completely different story from the existing narrative. Currently unnamed, the series is referred to as 〈Evangelion Completely New Series〉 and was announced during an event held on February 23rd (local time).
The promotional video (PV) released alongside the announcement shows that it is still in the early stages of production, filled with brief sentences and a single illustration rather than large images. Phrases such as "Eternal Summer Vacation", "This is our paradise, this is our grave", "What echoes is the song of fear", and "May its soul find peace" were accompanied by images of a ruined building and abandoned instruments. Subsequently, a new Evangelion reminiscent of the Unit-01 emits heat, overwhelming the audience.
With so much not yet revealed, the new 〈Evangelion〉 has filled fans with anticipation thanks to its production team. Director Kazuya Tsurumaki, who previously worked with Hideaki Anno on 〈Shin Evangelion: The Movie〉, will direct the project. Additionally, Yoko Taro, known for creating the bleak world of the 〈Nier〉 series, will handle the overall script. Studio Khara, which specializes in the 〈Evangelion〉 series, is collaborating with CloverWorks, which recently produced 〈Bocchi the Rock!〉 and 〈Spy Family〉.
