Netflix Sets July 7 Premiere for Better Late Than Single Season 2

Makeover dating series returns with contestants who have never dated

Netflix has set Season 2 of its original variety series 〈Better Late Than Single〉 to premiere July 7 and unveiled a teaser trailer.

〈Better Late Than Single〉 is a makeover dating reality series that follows so-called 'motae solo' contestants—people with no dating experience at all—as they attempt their first relationships. The show previously drew viewers' empathy by observing how participants, awkward at dating, build romance in their own ways and navigate changing emotions.

The released teaser previews a Season 2 cast with even more varied personalities. Contestants with distinctive tendencies appear, including a 'reed-like idealist' whose type changes by the day and a 'visual obsessive' fixated on looks, setting up plenty of intrigue. The teaser also includes a scene in which the cast members say in unison, "This catfish is different," referring to a midseason entrant expected to shake things up, foreshadowing new tension.

The 'Somemaker' panelists, who will observe the contestants' dates and provide advice and reactions, include Seo In-guk, Kang Han-na, Lee Eun-ji and Car, the Garden. In the trailer, they show unfiltered reactions—expressing shock or frustration at the participants' awkward behavior—yet they also display confidence in this season's matching results, saying, "Let's go on a reward trip."

The series is directed by Kim No-eun and Won Seung-jae, with the script written by Jung Sun-young. The 10-episode 〈Better Late Than Single〉 Season 2 will roll out exclusively worldwide on Netflix over four weeks beginning July 7.
