‘The Taste of Prison’ Starts Filming July 6! Lee Sun-bin, Park Ji-hwan, Bae Hyun-seong, Park Young-gyu, Jo Bok-rae, and More Revealed in Reading Still Photos!

A comedy film about an A-list chef who ends up working in a prison kitchen and inmates who create mind-blowing dishes with recipes and ingredients no one could have imagined.

Comedy film ‘The Taste of Prison,’ which depicts a fun food reformation story in which a star chef, suddenly thrown into rock bottom and assigned to work in a prison kitchen, and inmates awaken their souls by making dishes with recipes and ingredients beyond imagination has confirmed the casting of standout actors from Lee Sun-bin and Park Ji-hwan to Bae Hyun-seong, along with Park Young-gyu, Jo Bok-rae, Jo Dong-in, Lee Sang-jin, and Lee Bong-ryeon. With the news that filming began on July 6, the production also unveiled script reading stills that capture a lighthearted and warm atmosphere.

First, Lee Sun-bin, who has shown a wide range of acting through films such as ‘Noise,’ ‘Okay Madam,’ and drama ‘Let’s Go to the Moon,’ ‘Potato Research Institute,’ ‘Boys’ Generation,’ and ‘Likers of the City Women,’ will take on the role of Jessica, a star chef who stays on the path of a traditional culinary elite course—only to tumble into a prison kitchen overnight. She is set to bring a new kind of charm to the role.

Park Ji-hwan, who has delivered a strong presence in films including ‘The Man Who Surives with the King,’ ‘Handsome Guys,’ and the ‘Crime City’ series, as well as dramas such as ‘A Hundred Times of Memories’ and ‘Gangmaegang,’ will play Jeong Tae, the head of Cell 3. He finds himself clashing with the star chef Jessica over and over, yet ends up creating astonishing food with recipes and mysterious ingredients he has never heard of or seen before.

And Bae Hyun-seong, who has showcased fresh appeal through dramas including ‘Gentleman Shop Project,’ ‘Assembled Family,’ ‘Gaus Electronics,’ ‘Our Blues,’ and the ‘Wise Doctor’s Life’ series, takes on the role of Su-hyeon, a newcomer in Cell 3. With a tender disposition that sparks a protective instinct and an innate sense of cooking, he is expected to emerge as the prison’s Gen Z chef.

Meanwhile, Park Young-gyu plays No-ja, the mental pillar of Cell 3 and the coffee heavyweight, after building a long, broad career in productions such as the dramas ‘Nation of Villains,’ ‘Mr. Kim & Company,’ ‘Protect the Boss,’ and ‘Soonpoong Obstetrics and Gynecology,’ and establishing himself as a household-name actor. Jo Bok-rae is cast as Yong-tak, a loudmouthed con artist, after showing lively performances in films such as ‘The Informant,’ dramas including ‘Mr. Kim Bu-jang,’ ‘Today Is Also a Sellout,’ and ‘Undercover High School.’ In addition, Jo Dong-in takes on the role of Ki-chul, a former economics criminal with a big appetite, after leaving a strong impression in dramas such as ‘UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces,’ ‘Hell Season 2,’ and ‘The Host: The Grey.’ Lee Sang-jin plays Seong-yeol, the representative of a restaurant run by Jessica’s longtime friend, a character with an irreplaceable presence, after appearing in dramas including ‘Typhoon Company,’ ‘Fine: The Country Folk,’ ‘Boys’ Generation,’ and the ‘New Soldier’ series, as well as ‘A Story About Kim Bu-jang Going to a Major Company While Living in Seoul.’ Lastly, Lee Bong-ryeon, cast as Soon-young, Jessica’s sister and a figure of both affection and resentment, completes a diverse character ensemble with her distinctive acting in dramas such as ‘UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces,’ ‘Someday, a Life in a Wise Major,’ and ‘One- The-Target Scandal.’

The film ‘The Taste of Prison,’ which unveiled its full casting lineup to deliver a special taste of comedy, began shooting on the 6th and shared comments from its actors and director.
