Meeting of the star of 'Hero' and Spica member marks second act of life with a new baby
Yang Jun-mo, 46, a leading actor on the musical stage, and Yang Ji-won, 38, a former member of girl group Spica, are opening a new chapter in their lives as a married couple. The pair have received an outpouring of congratulations from the public and fans after simultaneously announcing their surprise marriage and pregnancy.
The ceremony, originally planned for early next year, is expected to be held sooner with the arrival of their new baby. Yang Ji-won unveiled wedding photos on her social media on the 24th and shared her joy, saying, "Thankfully, a new life has come to us, and I will become a mother at 40 next year."
The prospective groom, Yang Jun-mo, also showed his steadfast affection that day. "There was someone who became a warm source of strength by my side and helped me find my smile again," he said. "Now I want to become one family with that person and begin a new life." He was especially candid about his past pain, saying, "After much deliberation, I ended my marriage in 2023," adding sincerity to his new beginning.
Yang Jun-mo made his debut in 2004 with the musical opera Geumgang. He went on to land leading roles in major productions including Empress Myeongseong and The Man Who Laughs, and cemented his singular charisma above all as Ahn Jung-geun in Hero.
Yang Ji-won, now his life partner, entered the pop music industry in 2012 as a member of girl group Spica and gained public recognition with songs including Russian Roulette. She later expanded her career through the survival program The Unit and as a member of project group UNI.T. More recently, she transitioned into acting and has built a solid filmography on the strength of her steady performances.
