With a tense narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, <The Hunter with a Scalpel> is a hardcore crime thriller where forensic investigator Se-hyun discovers the familiar killing methods of her father, the serial killer 'Tailor', who was thought to have died 20 years ago, and sets out to find him before the police officer Jung-hyun, determined not to become her father's prey.

Se-hyun, “I have to find him. I must be the first.”

As the veil surrounding Se-hyun (Park Joo-hyun) and Jo-kyun (Park Yong-woo) is lifted, it provides a thrilling catharsis to the home audience, adding a unique enjoyment. Upon discovering the existence of her father Jo-kyun, whom she thought was dead, Se-hyun resolves, “I have to find him. I must be the first,” vowing to do whatever it takes to locate Jo-kyun. Unable to escape her past trauma, Se-hyun is terrified of the devilish Jo-kyun but plunges into a merciless chase for survival. In a taut tension of pursuit and being pursued, the father and daughter aim their blades at each other. Just when Jo-kyun's victory seemed certain, Se-hyun cleverly manages to escape her father's grasp. In a situation where all evidence points to her as the culprit, Se-hyun successfully counterattacks, raising curiosity about whether she can eliminate Jo-kyun in the remaining four episodes.

Jo-kyun, “Didn’t Dad tell you before? Blood relations are truly special.”

The natural-born psychopath Jo-kyun hides his devilish nature behind a dandy appearance and kind eyes. His twisted paternal love and intense obsession towards Se-hyun send chills down the spines of viewers each week. When Se-hyun, filled with murderous intent, confronts Jo-kyun, he reveals his madness by saying, “Didn’t Dad tell you before? Blood relations are truly special.” He then provokes Se-hyun with, “Didn’t you feel like you were working with Dad? You must have stitched up what I sent you,” reminding us of his nature that views murder as a game. <The Hunter with a Scalpel> is heading towards its climax as Jo-kyun's indiscriminate and brutal past of committing murders with Se-hyun as his assistant is revealed. As Jo-kyun begins to weave a web to isolate his daughter Se-hyun, the source of his murderous inspiration, and keep her by his side forever, the tension and excitement of the plot increase in proportion to his meticulousness, raising expectations for the conclusion.

Jung-hyun, “It’s an honour to meet you in person.” → “Do you really have nothing to say to me?”

Jung-hyun (Kang Hoon), with his obsession for investigation and sharpness that misses no small clues, combined with warm humanity, is increasing his presence by winning over the frozen hearts of those around him with sincere actions. From the day he first met Se-hyun, Jung-hyun expressed absolute respect and trust by saying, “It’s an honour to meet you in person,” while conducting a joint investigation. However, as a series of murders following the autopsy report begin to point all evidence towards Se-hyun, he finds himself at a crossroads. The heartfelt question, “Do you really have nothing to say to me?” that he desperately asks while hoping Se-hyun will tell him the truth reveals his complex emotions teetering between doubt and belief. In response, Se-hyun turns away, pouring out resentful glances and cold words, saying, “No matter what I say, you won’t believe me anyway, will you?” Yet, ultimately, Jung-hyun does not lose faith and throws himself into danger for Se-hyun, raising interest in whether he can maintain his trust in her and get one step closer to the truth.
