'Parasite' Jang Hye-jin, “I was embarrassed not to receive dress sponsorship at Cannes.. Kim Sook saved me with a dress”

Actress Jang Hye-jin reveals her special connection with broadcaster Kim Sook.

MBC announced that the entertainment show 〈Where is My Home〉 airing on the 14th (Thursday) will be a special feature celebrating Kim Sook's 30th anniversary in the industry. According to MBC, during the broadcast, Kim Sook will state, “It has been 30 years since I left Busan.” and adds, “Today, I will conduct a site visit focusing on the houses I actually lived in, following the address on my resident registration.”

On that day, actress Jang Hye-jin, a close friend from the entertainment industry, will join Kim Sook as her site visit mate. Appearing in the studio, Jang Hye-jin introduces herself saying, “I am Jang Hye-jin, Kim Sook's friend of 30 years.” and showcases famous lines from her works 〈Parasite〉 〈Crash Landing on You〉 〈The Sound of a Flower〉.

Jang Hye-jin introduces her close friend Kim Sook as someone who gives realistic advice to those who are not well-versed in the entertainment industry, and shares a story about receiving help from Kim Sook when she was invited to the Cannes Film Festival for the movie 'Parasite'. She recalls, “At that time, I was unknown and it was difficult to get dress sponsorship. Kim Sook took me to a friend's boutique and helped me choose a dress. I was able to attend the Cannes Film Festival safely wearing the dress I chose there.”

When asked about their connection, Kim Sook reveals, “We met at the largest acting academy in Busan during our senior year. Hye-jin was the top actress among 30-40 students. She was the only one among us who got into the Korea National University of Arts.”

The special feature for Kim Sook's 30th anniversary, '30 Years of Turbulent Broadcasting Life', will be aired on Thursday night at 10 PM on MBC 〈Where is My Home〉.
