Actor Cha Joo-young delivers extreme tension through the movie 〈Sister〉.
The movie 〈Sister〉, set to be released on January 28, 2026, heightened expectations for the work by unveiling two character stills of Cha Joo-young as the hostage 'So-jin' on the 31st. The film 〈Sister〉 is a kidnapping thriller that uncovers the hidden truth between 'Hae-ran' (Jeong Ji-so), who kidnapped her sister for a huge ransom, 'Tae-soo' (Lee Soo-hyuk), who planned everything, and the hostage 'So-jin' (Cha Joo-young), who struggles to escape.
Cha Joo-young, who has showcased stable acting skills in dramas such as 〈The Glory〉, 〈Won-gyeong〉, and the movie 〈Lobby〉, takes on the role of 'So-jin', the daughter of a wealthy family and a hostage in this work. She is expected to portray a wide range of emotions, from the desperate feelings of being kidnapped by her half-brother without knowing the reason, to the boldness of forming a precarious alliance with the kidnapper for survival.
The released character stills vividly capture the urgent situation that So-jin is in. The image of her walking alone on a dark street hints at the impending crisis, and the still of her being bound with both hands showcases a fierce determination to escape, highlighted by her piercing gaze. In particular, after So-jin learns that the kidnapper Hae-ran is her half-sister, she is expected to raise the tension of the plot to its peak by launching unpredictable counterattacks against the ruthless planner 'Tae-soo'.
The movie 〈Sister〉 will officially be released in theaters on January 28, 2026.
