Kim Min-ju, Moon Sang-min, and Lomon Cast in Netflix 'Beauty in the Beast'... A Wolf Girl Romance is Coming

Netflix has begun production on an original romance series.

On January 8, Netflix announced the production of the series 〈Beauty in the Beast〉 (Tentative). The series depicts the story of Min-soo, who has a secret of transforming into a wolf, as she meets her university senior Hae-jun and the wolf boy Do-ha, creating a youth fantasy romance starring Kim Min-ju, Lomon, and Moon Sang-min.

Kim Min-ju, who has showcased her diverse charms through the film 〈The Tale of Nokdu〉, and dramas [Undercover High School], [Connection], takes on the role of the girl who transforms into a wolf, ‘Han Min-soo’. Due to her ability that must not be discovered by anyone, ‘Min-soo’ has lived suppressing herself, dreaming of an ordinary life as a curious girl who has many things she wants to do and places she wants to visit. The role of ‘Hae-jun’, Min-soo’s university senior, is played by Moon Sang-min, who is steadily building his filmography with dramas [Cinderella at 2 AM], [Wedding Impossible], and [Shuroop]. Despite his intimidating first impression with a stern face and sharp gaze, ‘Hae-jun’, nicknamed ‘Big Dog’, has a gentle demeanor and is usually indifferent to others, but for some reason, he finds himself strangely concerned about ‘Min-soo’, who behaves oddly whenever she stands in front of him. Lomon, who has proven his presence through Netflix series 〈Now at Our School〉, and dramas [Family Planning], [Brand in Seongsu-dong], plays the role of the free-spirited werewolf ‘Do-ha’. ‘Do-ha’, who acts on his desires without hesitation, finds ‘Min-soo’, who lives suppressing her emotions, both frustrating and strangely intriguing.

Director Jin-hyuk, who has been loved by the public for his delicate character portrayals and artistic visuals in dramas 〈Mrs. Oh's Deadly Affair〉, 〈Sisyphus: The Myth〉, and 〈The Legend of the Blue Sea〉, will direct the series, while writer Jin Han-sae, who has shown bold writing, sharp insights, and unique storytelling in Netflix series 〈Human Class〉 and 〈Glitch〉, will pen the script.
