BTS, who will release their 5th studio album on March 20, has seen their 2022 release 'Run BTS' reach No. 1 on the Billboard 'World Digital Song Sales' chart.
According to their agency Big Hit Music on the 7th, 'Run BTS' topped the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 61 countries worldwide, including Brazil and Finland, and also recorded No. 1 on the Billboard sub-chart.
'Run BTS' is a track from the anthology album 'Proof' released in June 2022.
Big Hit Music stated, "This is an achievement brought about by the voluntary streaming of the global fandom 'ARMY' ahead of the comeback," adding, "Fans have revisited the group's past songs, expressing their anticipation for the new release."
Recently, the 2018 release 'Anpanman' also achieved No. 1 on the Billboard 'World Digital Song Sales' chart, and following leader RM's live broadcast, his solo track 'Nuts' re-entered the same chart at No. 2.

Following the news of BTS's new release, existing songs also saw a significant rise in rankings on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
On the Spotify 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart, Jimin's 'Who' ranked 32nd, Jin's 'Don't Say You Love Me' ranked 38th, Jungkook's 'Seven' ranked 62nd, and V's duet with Park Hyo-shin, 'Winter Ahead,' ranked 102nd. This represents an increase of 48, 36, 54, and 80 places, respectively, compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, foreign media outlets have also reported on BTS's comeback news, expressing high interest.
Billboard in the U.S. reported, "The moment a giant artist representing K-pop returns after about four years of absence." The Washington Post utilized the hit song title to report, "BTS is ready to heat up 2026 like 'Dynamite.'"
