The well-made documentary film 〈The Republic of Korea is Made by the People〉 reflects on the one year of emergency martial law from 12.3 and warns that the insurrection is not over, and has released the trailer for ‘Spring is Coming’ ahead of its release next week. Citizens with warm smiles like spring are captured on screen to the tune of Park In-hee’s ‘The Way Spring Comes’. “Spring is coming to the quiet path beyond the mountain…” with bright lyrics like spring, the citizens who never lost hope in any moment shed tears as they embrace the long-awaited Constitutional Court’s decision to remove Yoon Suk-yeol. Although they pretended to be fine, it is a moment that reveals how broken the hearts of the people towards democracy were and how fearful and scared they truly were.

The trailer, which includes the long-awaited and unbeatable 21st presidential election, suddenly shines a light on the frozen Han River, stating, “Winter has returned, and the insurrection is still not over,” showing the winter that has come amidst the cold wave. This is because no one has been punished yet, and it seems to be due to the unstable judiciary, as signs regarding Jo Hee-dae fill the screen. The trailer concludes with the copy, “But spring will come again, surely,” encouraging everyone to not lose hope until the end, knowing that the insurrection will not end until proper punishment is served. Thus, the trailer for 〈The Republic of Korea is Made by the People〉 was released ahead of its premiere, which will be available in theaters on January 22.

〈The Republic of Korea is Made by the People〉 is a documentary that captures the desperate solidarity of citizens who rose with cheering sticks during the 12.3 insurrection and the fierce election campaign to create a new Republic of Korea.
