Netflix Reveals 2026 Lineup... Jeon Do-yeon and Lee Chang-dong Reunite in 'Possible Love' After 19 Years

Actress Jeon Do-yeon shared her feelings about reuniting with director Lee Chang-dong in the Netflix film 〈Possible Love〉, 19 years after 〈Secret Sunshine〉.

Jeon Do-yeon attended the 'Next On Netflix 2026 Korea' event held at a hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 21st, stating, "If 〈Secret Sunshine〉 was an intense and fierce set, this time we promised to have fun filming," adding, "It was a healing atmosphere that made me want to go to the set as soon as I woke up."

She remarked, "It was truly an astonishingly joyful set," and added with a laugh, "Director Lee Chang-dong even said he has become kinder himself."

Set to be released in the fourth quarter of this year, 〈Possible Love〉 is the new work by director Lee Chang-dong, his first in 8 years since 〈Burning〉. Jeon Do-yeon and director Lee Chang-dong collaborated for the first time since 〈Secret Sunshine〉, where Jeon Do-yeon won the Best Actress award at the 60th Cannes Film Festival.

Jeon Do-yeon expressed her anticipation, saying, "The story depicts the cracks that appear in the daily lives of a couple living extreme lives," and added, "I am curious about how the work will turn out, and I hope it will be an opportunity to discover a new side of myself."

Many lead actors from the series Netflix is releasing this year attended the event.

Son Ye-jin, who stars in 〈Scandal〉, said, "I tried to express a sense of beauty that lives in the margins based on historical accuracy from the Joseon Dynasty," adding, "I delicately captured the restrained colors and the Korean beauty that is well represented in the Hanok space, so I believe overseas fans will see, 'Wow, such beauty existed.'"

The character played by Son Ye-jin, Lady Jo, is a woman who engages in a dangerous love bet against the backdrop of being born a woman and unable to do anything. 〈Scandal〉is a series reimagining the 2003 film 〈Untold Scandal〉, in which Jeon Do-yeon played the role of Lady Jo.

Son Ye-jin shared, "The hanbok in the work looks really beautiful, but once you wear it, you can't move at all. I wondered how the noble class lived wearing this," and said, "Maintaining a stiff posture for months without being able to cross my arms or sit with my legs crossed was a big hardship."

Park Eun-bin, who stars in the fantasy series 〈The WONDERfools〉 set in 1999, stated that they completed filming based on excellent teamwork. Park Eun-bin collaborated again with director Yoo In-sik, who directed her representative work 〈Extraordinary Attorney Woo〉.

Park Eun-bin mentioned, "Since we started knowing each other very well, we matched perfectly without needing to say much," and added, "The chemistry with the other actors was really good. I also had my first collaboration with Cha Eun-woo, who is currently serving in the military."

Regarding her character, a superpowered individual named Eun-chae, she said, "She is a character who shows a carefree and lively side to the extent that her nickname is 'messy'," and asked for interest in what kind of superpowers she will use in the work.

Nam Joo-hyuk, who showcases action by slashing ghosts with a sword in the Eastern fantasy period drama 〈The East Palace〉, stated, "I performed a variety of actions, and I think various visuals will appear beautifully among them."
