A documentary film highlighting Melania Trump, the wife of U.S. President Donald Trump, premiered in Washington, D.C.

The White House announced that President Trump and First Lady Melania attended the documentary 〈Melania〉 premiere at the Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on the afternoon of the 29th (local time). The venue was originally known as the 'Kennedy Center' but was renamed last month, and there has been controversy over the name change as President Trump also serves as the chairman.

The documentary film 〈Melania〉 captures Melania's 20-day schedule leading up to President Trump's second inauguration last January.

Amazon's streaming service 'Prime Video' paid a licensing fee of $40 million (approximately 57.3 billion won) during the production process, with 70% of that amount reportedly going to First Lady Melania, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Given that this was an unusually high appearance fee for a documentary subject, some have speculated that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos provided it to foster a friendly relationship with the Trump administration.

Typically not very active in public, First Lady Melania is fulfilling public engagements ahead of the film's release. As part of her promotional activities, she rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on the 28th.
