
The movie 〈The King’s Affection〉 has dominated the box office during the Lunar New Year holiday, surpassing a cumulative audience of 4 million.
According to the integrated ticketing system on the 19th, 〈The King’s Affection〉 attracted over 2.675 million viewers (62.5% market share) during the five days from the 14th to the 18th, taking the number one spot at the box office. The cumulative audience reached over 4.174 million, surpassing the melodrama 〈Once We Were Us〉 (over 2.442 million viewers) starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young, setting the record for the most viewers among this year's releases.
〈The King’s Affection〉 depicts the final days of King Danjong of Joseon, who spends his last moments in exile in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, with the village chief and the townspeople. Park Ji-hoon stars as Danjong, Yoo Hae-jin plays the village chief, and Jang Hang-jun directed the film.

In second place is the spy action film 〈HUMINT〉, starring Jo In-sung and Park Jung-min. During the same period, it attracted around 980,000 viewers, with a cumulative audience of over 1.284 million. Following it are 〈Choir of God〉 (around 130,000 viewers), 〈Number One〉 starring Choi Woo-shik and Jang Hae-jin (around 122,000 viewers), and 〈Once We Were Us〉 (around 43,000 viewers).
In terms of advance ticket sales, 〈The King’s Affection〉 maintains its lead, accelerating its box office momentum. As of 7 AM on the 19th, it recorded the highest advance ticket sales rate of 50.3% (around 166,000 viewers), while 〈HUMINT〉 followed with 16.7% (around 55,000 viewers).
