The fourth series of the Japanese version of ‘Produce 101’, 〈PRODUCE 101 JAPAN New World〉, successfully held its first offline event ‘101DAY’ on the 24th in Japan. This event marked the first meeting of the trainees with the public, conducted amidst the intense media coverage and enthusiasm from fans. It is expected to continue the legacy of the series, which has established itself as Japan's largest audition program by producing JO1, INI, and ME:I.
This ‘101DAY’ was live-streamed to 106 regions worldwide through the global K-POP content platform ‘Mnet Plus’. According to access analysis, the highest viewership was recorded in Korea, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, and the United States, proving its potential for success in the global market. Additionally, the official YouTube channel's cumulative views surpassed 8.4 million, and the performance video of the theme song ‘New World (SHINSEKAI)’ featuring choreographers Kirstin and KAITA is also gaining significant attention.
The program's popularity is also reflected in the high interest in the cast. The news of Choi Soo-young and Dean Fujioka joining as ‘producer representatives’ topped the real-time trends on Japan's largest portal ‘Yahoo Japan’, demonstrating the local excitement. Mnet Plus is set to operate a global live streaming and voting system, excluding Japan, as a global official platform, serving as a hub for the global fandom.
The journey of creating a global idol, 〈PRODUCE 101 JAPAN New World〉, is scheduled to be simultaneously released worldwide, including Korea, on March 26 through the global official platform ‘Mnet Plus’.
