The Netflix series 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉 will be released on March 6 (Friday), and today (26th), Jisoo, Seo In-guk, and Director Kim Jung-sik attended the production presentation. 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉 is a romantic comedy where Mirae (Jisoo), a webtoon PD exhausted from real life, subscribes to and experiences love through a virtual dating simulation. This marks Jisoo's first challenge in a romantic comedy, and the meeting with Seo In-guk, known for his great chemistry, is drawing attention, especially with Director Kim Jung-sik, who has completed delightful and unique romances in works like [City of Drinking Women] and [Don't Want to Lose], at the helm.

The production presentation began under the title '〈Boyfriend on Demand〉 Unpack Press Showcase', firmly imprinting the concept of the virtual dating subscription service featured in the series. Director Kim Jung-sik introduced 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉 as "a story about a protagonist who has been hurt in reality experiencing dates and healing through a virtual dating subscription service," explaining that it differentiates itself from other romantic comedies by showcasing various settings and characters rather than just one character in a single setting. Jisoo shared her thoughts when she first heard about the 'virtual dating subscription service' concept, saying, "The idea of virtual reality didn’t feel like something from a distant future. I think the stories of Mirae, who struggles and overcomes challenges in a virtual reality, will resonate with my friends of the same age." Seo In-guk mentioned that when he first read the script for 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉, he found the concept of entering a virtual reality world intriguing. He expressed that the story, with its characters fitting the unique virtual background and the emotional changes experienced by the characters as they navigate between reality and the virtual world, was captivating, which led him to choose this project.

Jisoo plays the role of 'Mirae', a young adult who is exhausted from 'real life' and has put love on the back burner. She is set to showcase a new charm by meeting a character that perfectly matches her lovable energy. Jisoo described Mirae as "a 'professional real-lifer' who focuses solely on work after failing in love and getting hurt. She is a multi-dimensional character who learns and grows a lot in virtual reality," hinting at the relatable story Mirae will present. Seo In-guk takes on the role of 'Kyung-nam', an unpredictable colleague who brings variables into Mirae's daily life. Seo In-guk introduced Kyung-nam as "Mirae's colleague and rival, known as a capable worker in the office. He may seem cold on the outside, but he has a caring side hidden beneath his bluntness," and added, "It would be interesting to see how the emotionally awkward Kyung-nam changes after meeting Mirae." He also mentioned, "He is a very humorous and lovable character. The filming set was always filled with laughter, starting and ending with joy," raising expectations for the chemistry between the two characters in the project. Director Kim Jung-sik commented on the charm of both actors, stating, "Jisoo has successfully embodied various settings and characters in virtual reality, proving that effort can surpass talent. Once you watch the entire project, you will instantly understand why Seo In-guk had to be Kyung-nam," expressing his trust in the actors along with the reasons for their casting.

The glamorous special guest lineup of 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉 is also generating buzz. Actors such as Seo Kang-joon, Lee Soo-hyuk, Lee Jae-wook, Ong Seong-wu, and Kim Young-dae, each armed with different charms, will play virtual world lovers. Regarding this, Director Kim Jung-sik expressed gratitude to all the actors who participated, stating, "I wanted to showcase romance and characters in various environments, so I cast actors that fit the image of each theme." He further revealed that when directing the dating scenes, he approached it with the mindset of a developer of the Boyfriend on Demand device rather than a director, saying, "I thought a lot about how to create a satisfying environment for subscribers to enjoy their dates, and I paid great attention to art, CG, and music," raising anticipation for the diverse dates that will unfold in the virtual dating subscription service 'Boyfriend on Demand'. Jisoo also shared her experience, saying, "It felt like I was truly experiencing virtual reality, and the changing professions made me more immersed in the situation. I even wondered what it would be like if such a device actually existed."

Finally, Director Kim Jung-sik pointed out, "The story becomes more interesting as it progresses. I hope you pay attention to how Mirae and Kyung-nam change as they start to resemble each other." Jisoo mentioned, "There are 250 outfits in the production. With such a variety of themes and appearances, there will be enjoyment in watching it," urging interest and anticipation for 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉. Seo In-guk also shared his affectionate thoughts, saying, "It’s a drama that unfolds interestingly with various themes, a glamorous cast, and everyday incidents. Once you start, you won’t want to miss a moment until the end." Meanwhile, the romantic comedy 〈Boyfriend on Demand〉, which promises relatable reality and thrilling excitement, will be available exclusively on Netflix starting March 6 (Friday).
