'No Tail to Tell' Lomon, "I realized that true love comes from acknowledging one's deficiencies"

Actor Lomon shared his thoughts on taking on a new project.

On the 28th, Lomon, who played the role of ‘Kang Si-yeol’ in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 〈No Tail to Tell〉, expressed his heartfelt thoughts on the series finale through his agency. Lomon portrayed ‘Kang Si-yeol’, a global soccer star with an intense passion, convincingly depicting the inner deficiencies and growth hidden behind his glamorous exterior.

In this work, which added a fantasy setting and emotional depth between characters on top of the excitement of a romantic comedy, he showcased an expanded acting spectrum, completing the character's density. Below is Lomon's Q&A regarding the series finale of 〈No Tail to Tell〉.

Q. What are your thoughts on the finale of 'No Tail to Tell'?

"Since it was a project made with passionate and good people, it was a very warm and precious memory for me. I was happy to live as ‘Kang Si-yeol’ for the past few months, and I think I was able to grow even more thanks to the staff and fellow actors who worked hard together. While I feel a great sense of loss as it comes to an end, I am finishing on a good note thanks to the love from the viewers."

Q. Is there a scene or line that you feel particularly attached to while playing 'Kang Si-yeol'?

"The scene where I reunite with my lost grandmother really stays with me. The moment Si-yeol confronts a precious existence that he had forgotten or tried to ignore while living in glamour and success was truly moving. Filming that scene made me deeply reflect on what we should never miss in our lives."

Q. What aspect of yourself did you want to show anew as actor Lomon through this work?

"I wanted to show Si-yeol's unique 'dynamic charm' with the hot passion and energy of an athlete. I tried to create a multi-dimensional character that is not just a glamorous star but also honest with his emotions, sometimes quirky and cute. I hope this work allows the public to remember me as a more approachable and colorful actor."

Q. Did you feel that you expanded as an actor while playing 'Kang Si-yeol'?

"I feel like my 'perspective of empathy' has broadened. While portraying Si-yeol, who only knew himself, understanding others' pain and facing deficiencies made me rethink my attitude towards people. It was a precious time where I could feel how a person's inner self becomes stronger through love and understanding, going beyond just acting a role."

Q. You have played intense characters in genre works, but what was the most different aspect of challenging a romance-centered narrative?

"I think the biggest difference was that I had to immerse myself deeply in the relationships and emotional connections between characters, rather than just following the flow of events. The process of conveying sincerity through subtle tremors in dialogue or a single glance was very interesting. Since the emotional energy exchanged with the co-actor becomes the center of the drama, I made an effort to breathe more delicately in every moment."

Q. While showcasing serious romantic acting, what new realizations did you have about expressing emotions?

"I realized that true love is the process of honestly acknowledging my empty spaces or deficiencies and filling those gaps with each other's warmth. I learned that love deepens when empathy, which involves feeling the other person's pain, is the foundation rather than just consideration. Thanks to this, I think I have learned to approach emotional expression in a more genuine and straightforward way."

"Thank you sincerely for warmly watching and supporting Si-yeol's growth, which was somewhat lacking.
