Actress Yerin Ha shared her thoughts on living as a Korean actress in Hollywood.

Netflix's 〈Bridgerton〉 is a series that deals with the scandals and romances that shook the British upper class in the 19th century, making headlines every season. All episodes of 〈Bridgerton 4〉 were released on February 26, featuring a romance series that transcends love, identity, and class boundaries between the free-spirited Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), who is indifferent to marriage, and the 'woman in the silver dress' he meets at a masquerade, and the maid Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Yerin Ha, who plays the role of Sophie Baek, is a Korean-Australian actress who gained attention for her roles in the Netflix series 〈Survivors〉 and the drama 〈Halo〉, and she is also the first Asian actress to take on a leading role in the 〈Bridgerton〉 series.

On this day, Yerin Ha explained why she uses her Korean name 'Yerin' while working in Hollywood, saying, “I have been living as 'Yerin' since I was young (when I lived in Australia). Looking back now, I am very grateful that my mother did not give me another English name,” and added, “Rather, the name 'Yerin Ha' seems to well represent my identity and confidence as a Korean.”

Regarding this, Yerin Ha stated, “It is true that 〈Bridgerton〉 is set in the past, but it reflects today's reality very well,” and said, “I feel that the presence of various races is not unnatural. Perhaps it is because I have mingled with people of various races in Australia and the United States.” She also expressed her thoughts on the significance of the 〈Bridgerton〉 series, saying, “Since it encompasses stories of various races and sexual orientations, I think it resonates with audiences around the world.”
