The theme song 'Golden' from Netflix's highest-grossing film 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 (hereafter 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉) will resonate on the stage of the Academy Awards, the most prestigious ceremony in the film industry.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which hosts the Academy Awards, announced on the 10th (local time) through its official website that "EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Leia Ami, the vocalists of the girl group Huntress from 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉, will present 'Golden' live on the stage of the 98th Academy Awards."
This stage will open with a fusion performance combining traditional Korean instrumentals and dance, structured to honor the folkloric elements and cultural inspirations that are the roots of 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉. Following this, the three vocalists, including EJAE, will perform 'Golden'.
Raj Kapoor and Katie Mullen, the executive producers of the Academy Awards, described 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 as "a film that has sparked a global pop culture craze." The Academy also heightened expectations by posting on their official X account, urging Huntress fans to light up their support sticks.
〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 is nominated for two categories at this year's Academy Awards: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. After winning the Golden Globe Awards in January and the Grammy Awards last month, all eyes are on whether it can sweep the Academy Awards as well.
The awards ceremony will take place on the 15th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
