Wavve, Live Broadcast of All KLPGA·KPGA Matches... Innovating Golf Broadcasting with ‘Dolby Vision’

The online video service (OTT) platform Wavve is making a bold move by introducing live broadcasts of professional golf tours, enhancing its competitiveness in sports content.

Wavve announced on the 10th that it will start live broadcasting all matches of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) and the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) tour this season. Wavve's golf broadcasts will kick off with the KLPGA tour ‘Rejuran Championship’ starting in Thailand on the 12th. Additionally, it will provide live streaming of all KLPGA matches throughout the season, including the domestic opening event in April. The KPGA tour can also be watched live through Wavve starting with the ‘DB Insurance Promi Open’ on April 16.

In particular, starting in April, Wavve will enhance the viewing experience by introducing ‘Dolby Vision’ technology for golf broadcasts. Dolby Vision is a technology that supports a much wider color gamut and brightness than existing video, realistically reproducing the vivid green of the grass on the field and the subtle trajectory of the golf ball.

A Wavve representative stated, “Following the provision of specialized sports channels, we aim to offer users a differentiated sports viewing experience by fully introducing golf broadcasts,” and added, “We plan to gradually expand the golf-specific features to become a core platform that provides all the information needed for golf fans.”
