The group TWS’s first VR concert, “RUSH ROAD (TWS VR CONCERT : RUSH ROAD),” wrapped up its domestic theatrical run successfully, recording the highest-ever performance for K-pop VR concerts.

Overcoming the limits of a single-theater release, “RUSH ROAD,” which opened exclusively at MegaBox on March 4 and ran through April 12, according to its production company, Amaze (AMAZE), surpassed 40,000 cumulative attendees and achieved an astonishing average seat occupancy rate of 81%. Despite the restricted conditions of a single-theater release, it sold out in a rush right after ticket sales opened, then drove momentum with MegaBox’s #1 box office position, an extension of the screening, and a surge in N-th viewing. This box-office success, which far outperformed previous VR concert results, is being hailed as a new benchmark set for the K-pop VR concert market.

At the heart of the hit was TWS’s members’ enthusiastic participation and the show’s diverse space-and-time stage direction. From the early planning stages, the members shared their opinions directly on performance composition and camera direction to raise the level of completion, and they communicated actively with audiences through stage greetings and the Weverse community. In particular, starting with a rock festival setting, then moving through a golden sunset rooftop and a variety of space-and-time transitions where auroras unfold, the production delivered an overwhelming sense of immersion to viewers during what is the longest running time to date. On top of that, performances of representative hit songs such as “The First Meeting Didn’t Go as Planned,” “OVERDRIVE,” and “Oh Mymy : 7s” completed an abundant lineup of things to see.

Winning Mainstream Appeal Beyond the Fandom and Kicking Off Global Screenings This content showed a high viewing share not only from TWS’s existing fandom, “42 (Sai),” but also from general audiences and fans of other fandoms. It proved the potential to expand beyond a simple fan-service offering—emerging as content that can attract new fandoms. After demonstrating new possibilities for performance content in Korea and finishing its run with strong acclaim, TWS’s “RUSH ROAD” will carry Korea’s box-office momentum forward and open in major global cities in a staggered release, continuing to meet audiences around the world.
