Actor Park Ji-hyun shared her thoughts on taking on the role of an idol singer.
Lead actor Park Ji-hyun of 〈Wild Thing〉, which opens June 3, met with CinePlay in Seoul's Jongno District on the afternoon of May 26 and spoke about everything from preparing for the film to her thoughts on the project.
〈Wild Thing〉 is a comedy about a three-member, mixed-gender dance group called 'Triangle' that once swept the music scene but disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident. Twenty years later, they mount a reckless challenge to seize a comeback opportunity. Park Ji-hyun plays Domi, Triangle's center and its irresistible star.
That day, Park Ji-hyun said, "Being the center, I felt I needed confidence. I was very worried, but I watched videos of many artists and tried to make the performance as bright and lively as possible." She added, "I tried to match the choreography and staging as closely as I could, but watching it back I thought, 'I should have let myself get more into it,' which is disappointing." She also said, "Seeing senior actor Eom Tae-goo, who plays Sang-gu, boxing in the music video made me think, 'Should I have done ballet too?'" She joked, drawing laughs in the room.
The film 〈Wild Thing〉 starring Park Ji-hyun opens on June 3.
