K-pop’s “people’s group” god celebrated its 10,000th day since debut by throwing a festival with fans at a theme park and marking the long journey of its companionship.
A large-scale celebration that links artist IP with a theme park Members Park Joon-hyung, Yoon Kyе-sang, Deniel (Denny Ahn), Son Ho-young, and Kim Tae-woo held “Sky Blue Balloon Week” at Everland in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, for four days from the 28th to the 31st of last month, turning the theme park into a sea of sky-blue cheering. Under the slogan “ONE FAMILY, 10,000 DAYS,” the event was planned as a homegrown K-pop first—a huge project that organically connects an artist’s intellectual property (IP) with large-scale theme park space infrastructure—drawing keen attention across the industry. During the event period, across Everland, layered fan experiences such as pop-up stores, special exhibitions, and flash mobs were available on an ongoing basis.
Relay concerts and a glittering roster of special guests The clear standout was the members’ own relay live stage. After the eve was kicked off with the unit concert by Son Ho-young and Kim Tae-woo, the “HoooW” show, the main fan concert took place on the 30th—the day of god’s 10,000th day since debut—with four members—Park Joon-hyung, Deniel (Denny Ahn), Son Ho-young, and Kim Tae-woo—leading group singalongs of beloved hits such as “Sky-Blue Balloons” and “To My Mother” (어머님께). In particular, producer Park Jin-young (J.Y. Park), who helped create god, joined in with piano performances of “Lies” and “A Candle Flame.” PSY also took the stage, pushing the atmosphere to its peak. On the final day, the 31st, Kim Tae-woo’s busking concert featured Lee Young-hyun and the group TIM together, closing the event with a moving finale.
Donation of proceeds and a preview of a new project launch Yoon Kyе-sang, who couldn’t attend in person due to personal scheduling, shared his heartfelt feelings through a video letter at the fan concert, and fans at the venue answered with unwavering love by waving “hap-pung-bong.” Through the symbolic milestone of 10,000 days, Gemstone E&M — the project’s overall planner, demonstrating the potential for new expansion of K-pop content—said it will donate part of this event’s proceeds under the names of god and the fandom “fangod.” It also announced the launch news for a new realty music project, “FIVE GUYS 81,” raising expectations for the active moves to follow.
