‘OK Madam 2’ Set for Release on Aug. 12! Ready for an All-Out Summer of Comic Action OK!

Families of former legendary agent Mi-young, who left on a lavish cruise trip, get caught up in a cruise kidnapping incident on the open blue sea.

With the release set nationwide in theaters on Wednesday, Aug. 12, the launch poster for 〈OK Madam 2〉 shows 엄정화 as “Mi-young,” a legendary agent who soon gets pulled into a cruise kidnapping case while on vacation, after briefly living as the owner of an ordinary twisted-dough snack shop. In the center of the poster, she takes over with overpowering eyes. Standing beside her, Park Seong-woong plays “Seok-hwan,” Mi-young’s husband—an ex–National Intelligence Service elite with only the reality of being a home-protection system user and a jobless man—and injects a humorous presence. Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yoon, who previously portrayed “Cheol-seung,” Mi-young’s former colleague, leaves a lasting impression with heavy charisma.

Adding to the comic tension are Bae Jeong-nam as “Hyun-min,” who turned his life around as the star of an ultra-luxury cruise wedding, and Park Jin-ju as “Seon-a,” the representative of the Eastern Venus—betting everything to keep the cruise safe. Also joining in are Ryo-woon as “Ji-hoon,” a cruise magician who has become entangled with Mi-young like magic, and Choi Soo-young as “Anya,” the ruthless leader of the criminal organization that shakes the cruise to its core—each delivering their own presence as the film kicks off an all-time, seven-people, seven-colors comic-action lineup.

In the launch trailer also unveiled, the action begins with Mi-young going all out to subdue kidnappers on the airplane, where the previous film’s setting took place. “This time, it’s a cruise.” With those words, a massive cruise ship sailing across the vast ocean appears, grabbing attention. Behind Mi-young’s charismatic figure racing along the deck, a fierce hand-to-hand fight erupts, ratcheting up the tension.

Next, when the cruise representative Seon-a “Who kidnapped you and brought you here?” asks, the sight of Seok-hwan—his arms bound as he says “Kidnapped?” and reacts in surprise—offers an unpredictable comedic chemistry, while adding the ominous one-liner from Anya, the mastermind behind the cruise kidnapping case and a captivating villain: “Shall we get started?” That line intensifies curiosity about what’s to come. As scenes of gunfighting and hair-raising moments where bodies are thrown from high above the cruise alternate at a breakneck pace with spectacle-filled explosions, the film plans to deliver a refreshing sense of scale and laugh-out-loud fun, set against the vast sea and an ultra-large cruise ship.

Joining the original cast that guarantees “big fun”—Eom Jeong-hwa, Park Seong-woong, Lee Sang-yoon, and Bae Jeong-nam—along with Park Jin-ju, Ryo-woon, and Choi Soo-young, 〈OK Madam 2〉 returns with an even richer lineup and an overwhelming scale. It opens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
