A Bloody Prelude That Splits a Perfect Routine, Swallowing the Living-Room Audience
MBC’s new daily drama ‘Family Relationship Certificate’ has lifted the curtain, promising a major twist for viewers. According to Nielsen Korea, the ratings survey firm, the first broadcast the previous day scored ‘4.3% nationwide’, signaling a smooth yet heavy departure.
Behind the mask of two families’ peace, a tragic backstory lurking beneath it unfolds at breakneck speed—capturing viewers’ attention completely in just one episode.
Na Jin-ni (played by Park Se-young) is one of the so-called ‘gold spoon’ kids, raised under the protection of Na Se-ri (played by Han Goeun) and Cha Min-gi (played by Jeon Nomin). But as she stakes out a sharp confrontation beyond the TV screen against her mother’s violent control—saying, “Just like I gave birth to you without your consent, I’ll also arrange your marriage the way I want”—the drama carries tense pressure from behind the glass.
To make matters worse, Na Jin-ni runs into Dodo Hee (played by Park Solra), the perpetrator of ‘school violence’ who once drove her to the edge of a cliff. She soon finds herself dragged back into the mire of a ‘trauma’ that had been deeply sealed.
The family of No Young-joo (played by Lim Ji-eun), positioned as the opposite of that world, appears to be living a tranquil everyday life with two sons—Cha Seung-hyun (played by Seo Do-young) and Cha Seung-woo (played by Jeon Seung-bin). But deep inside the room, a photo of Cha Min-gi—hidden secretly behind the chilling message, “Love your enemy”—heightens the mystery to a peak, hinting at the ‘shocking past’ that entangles and threatens both households.
Above all, this work carries special weight because Park Se-young—who tied the knot with actor Gwak Jeong-uk and welcomed a daughter—returns to the public eye in ‘her comeback work’ after four years. With even more mature acting, expectations are focused on the unconventional storyline she will lead, drawing attention from both the media and the public.
