Comedian 'Lee Soo-ji' (41), who has captivated the public with her unmatched ability to pull off characters, takes a moment to catch her breath. Amid an unrelenting schedule, she was diagnosed with a 'vocal cord nodule', making surgery unavoidable.
On the 14th, her agency, 'CP Entertainment', clarified his health condition through an official statement. According to the agency, Lee Soo-ji visited a hospital recently and received a medical team’s opinion that surgery is needed based on the results of a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. She therefore plans to focus on recovery and treatment for the time being.
She is currently taking on key roles across diversified platforms, including the SBS variety program 'No, But Really!' and her personal YouTube channel 'Hot Issue Ji'. Despite concerns raised inside and outside the broadcast industry over the sudden news of surgery, it appears that no critical gap in the schedule will occur. The production team has also secured a sufficient amount of filmed material in advance to air during the surgery period after coordinating closely ahead of time.
'Lee Soo-ji', who cemented her status as a central pillar of the comedy world by going through 'SNL Korea' on Coupang Play and the variety show 'Office Workers'. Her agency stressed, "For the time being, she will focus on recovery and return to stand before the public with a healthy appearance." After successful treatment and rest, she is set to make a dazzling return to the living-room screen with her straight-play acting in ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Soldier 4: Sabotage'.
