Real Poker Player Radpak Joins 'TAZZA: The Song of Beelzebub' as Poker Coach

Director Choi Guk-hee's crime film 〈TAZZA: The Song of Beelzebub〉 released a behind-the-scenes video on the 25th highlighting the work of its cast and crew. The film is distributed by CJ ENM and produced by Sidus. It is set to open on September 23.

〈TAZZA: The Song of Beelzebub〉 is a crime film about close friends Jang Tae-young (Byeon Yo-han) and Park Tae-young (No Jae-won), who believed they could have it all through an online casino business and, after betrayal and revenge, meet again to face off on the international gambling scene. The film is based on the installment in the series that creator Heo Young-man has said he is most attached to. Cinematographer Lee Seong-je of 〈The Outlaws 4〉 and martial arts director Yun Seok-jin of 〈Zombie Daughter〉 also joined the project.

The making-of video is split into four chapters, covering how the project began with the original work, location shoots across South Korea and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the preparations to recreate authentic high-stakes games. It also features remarks from the international cast—Japanese actors Miyoshi Ayaka and Ihara Tsuyoshi, and Vietnamese actor Hong Dao. Notably, real poker player Radpak served as a coach; the actors spent months practicing handling cards and chips themselves, and lead actor Byeon Yo-han completed all of his scenes without a hand double.

The film 〈TAZZA: The Song of Beelzebub〉, starring Byeon Yo-han, No Jae-won, Miyoshi Ayaka, Jo Woo-jin, Yun Kyung-ho, Ihara Tsuyoshi, Hong Dao, Kim Min-ho, Im Se-mi, and Mun Ji-hun, opens Wednesday, September 23.
