Meeting of K-pop powerhouses brings fresh energy to weekend television

MBC's flagship music program, 'Show! Music Core', has announced sweeping changes with a new lineup of hosts.

In an official announcement on the 31st, MBC said Sungho of 'BOYNEXTDOOR' and Sangwon of 'ALPHA DRIVE ONE', both of whom are expanding their global fan bases, have been tapped as the program's new hosts. They will connect with viewers every Saturday, beginning with their first live broadcast on 'Sept. 5'.

The host change has drawn industry attention because it puts key members of two groups at the forefront of the K-pop trend.

Taking on the new challenge, Sungho expressed confidence, saying, "Please look forward to the new side of me that I will show as a host." He is determined to bring the distinctive energy he has shown onstage to the hosting desk without holding back.

Sangwon, who will share the microphone with him, also said, "It is truly an honor to become an MC on 'Show! Music Core', and I still can't believe it," making no effort to hide his excitement. He added, "I will approach this role with a sense of responsibility because it is such a valuable and meaningful position," promising steady, authoritative hosting.
