Distinctive musical power sweeps Japan, marking a new milestone in solo career

BTS member Jimin has once again demonstrated his commanding presence in Japan’s music market.

According to his agency Big Hit Music on the 31st, “Who,” the title track from Jimin’s second solo album, “MUSE”, has surpassed 100 million cumulative streams in Japan, officially earning platinum certification in the Japan Record Association’s July streaming category.

The achievement marks the highest streaming total among all of Jimin’s solo songs and his first “platinum” certification in the streaming category. It is a significant indicator that he has built strong support and broad appeal among Japanese listeners, extending beyond the global pop market.

The Japan Record Association conducts rigorous monthly reviews based on a song’s cumulative streams, awarding gold certification for 50 million or more streams, platinum for 100 million or more, and diamond for 500 million or more.

Jimin previously earned platinum certification in the album category with his first solo album, “FACE”, after cumulative sales surpassed 250,000 copies. His latest release, “MUSE”, also sold more than 100,000 copies shortly after its release to earn gold certification, extending his steady commercial success across both physical albums and digital music.
