For the Revival of Hong Kong Action Cinema! 14 Press Stills Released for 'Muchedo: Stuntman'

〈Muchedo: Stuntman〉, which portrays the passion and challenges of stuntmen who helped define the golden age of Hong Kong action cinema, has released 14 press stills capturing its vivid action and the intensity of the set.

The newly released stills command attention with everything from stuntmen throwing themselves into action to complete a single scene, to the energy on set and the characters' wide range of emotions. A stunt sequence shows a body suspended in midair against the exterior wall of a building. Elsewhere, a figure keeps watch with a gun trained on the area, while the sharp gaze of another character crouched between vehicles conveys the tension unique to Hong Kong action films. Scenes of the crew gathered around cameras and monitors, eyes fixed on the screen, and monitoring the set over walkie-talkies show the intense hours they spend working in sync to complete each scene behind the spectacular action.

Scenes in which the characters face off in tense confrontations or look at one another deepen the mystery surrounding the relationships that develop on set. One figure sits alone, checking a knee brace, while two others remain in their respective places in a sunlit space. These images create a mood distinct from the action scenes and raise expectations for stories not only about the stuntmen's passion, but also about the lives and emotions behind it.

〈Muchedo: Stuntman〉 is directed by Yang Gwan-yo and Yang Gwan-sun, who experienced the Hong Kong film industry firsthand as working stunt performers, adding vivid realism and authenticity to the film. Drawing on their physical understanding of action and their years of experience on set, the directors portray the lives and passion of stuntmen who have quietly put their bodies on the line behind the dazzling set pieces. Tung Wai, Yoo Jun-gyeom, Chae Sa-woon and Oh Yun-ryong round out the cast, bringing together a story about different generations colliding and finding their rhythm on the same set. Even between past glory and a changed reality, these people refuse to stop pursuing perfect action. Their determination conveys their love for Hong Kong action cinema and the pride of stuntmen, promising both visceral thrills and a lasting emotional impact.
