Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger Comes to Screen, Telling the Story of a 15-Year Feud's End — "A Film About Forgiveness"

The 'Gallagher brothers' break 15 years of silence as Britpop legend returns to the big screen

'Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger', a documentary closely following British rock legends 'Oasis' on their historic reunion tour, will open exclusively at Lotte Cinema on the 9th.

The film takes an in-depth look at the 'world tour' that sent fans around the globe into a frenzy after 'Oasis', which abruptly announced its breakup in 2009, broke 15 years of silence and reunited. From Cardiff, Wales, through Manchester, London, Dublin and Toronto before continuing to Seoul and South America, the tour captured the extraordinary moments when packed stadiums sang along in unison to 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back in Anger'.

One especially moving scene shows 'Liam Gallagher' and 'Noel Gallagher', whose long-running feud had placed them at the center of the band's turmoil, clasping hands onstage. Through the camera lens, viewers see the brothers gradually lower their emotional barriers as the performances continue, revealing the subtle shifts in their feelings.

The film focuses on the candid story behind the spectacular shows. It offers a first look on screen at six weeks of grueling rehearsals as the brothers prepared to reunite, tense backstage scenes and the pair's first joint interview in more than 20 years. To capture the band at its most natural and unfiltered, the production team installed 12 fixed cameras throughout the rehearsal spaces and adopted the unconventional approach of filming remotely.

'Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger' is directed by 'Dylan Southern' and 'Will Lovelace', who have worked together on several music documentaries. The directors said, "The essence of this film ultimately lies in 'forgiveness.' We wanted to show how music can bring divided people together and fundamentally change individual lives."

Born in Manchester, England, in 1991, 'Oasis' became an iconic force in the 1990s 'Britpop' renaissance, powered by the synergy between 'Liam Gallagher''s singular vocals and 'Noel Gallagher''s songwriting genius. The band produced countless classics, including 'Live Forever', but suffered a tragic breakup during a European tour in 2009 after the brothers' bitter conflict reached a breaking point.

After completely turning their backs on each other for 15 years, the two officially announced a miraculous reunion and the launch of a 'world tour' in 2024, sending shock waves through the global music industry. Beginning with their first show in Britain last July, they traveled to South Korea in October for their first concert there in 16 years. The successful homecoming concert once again demonstrated their enduring ticket-selling power and staying power.
