Kim Do-yeon completed her first Busan International Film Festival run with the film 〈Dora〉. Her agency, Fantagio, said Oct. 12 that Kim successfully completed the official schedule for the 31st Busan International Film Festival, held from Oct. 6 to 9.

The film 〈Dora〉 follows a family who leave Seoul for a midsummer beach house, where Dora (Kim Do-yeon), who had been suffering from an unexplained illness, experiences first love for the first time, setting off fractures and change. After being invited to Directors' Fortnight at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, it received an official invitation to the Gala Presentation section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival, where it screened for domestic audiences for the first time.

Kim began her festival appearances on the opening ceremony red carpet and took part in an outdoor stage greeting, the "BIFF Discoveries, Shining New Stars" outdoor stage greeting, a Gala Presentation press conference and a guest talk. Kim said, "I was nervous but pleasantly excited to present this to Korean audiences for the first time. Immersing myself so deeply in the acting during filming was itself a valuable experience as an actor."

During the festival, Kim was honored with the "Face of Asia Award" at the Marie Claire Asia Star Awards 2026. Following her Best New Actress win at last year's 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, the latest honor reinforced her status as a rising actor.

Kim Do-yeon, who marks her 10th anniversary since her debut this year, stars in the film 〈Dora〉, which is targeting a domestic release in 2027.
