Casting changes after Lee Chung-ah exits with an injury; Jo Bo-ah transforms into 'Code Name Miss Lee'

Actor 'Lee Chung-ah' was originally set to lead the story in the role. But after 'Lee Chung-ah' sustained a back injury in an unexpected car accident, doctors determined that she would have difficulty performing the demanding action scenes, leaving her no choice but to withdraw from the project. The production team quickly began searching for a replacement, ultimately selecting 'Jo Bo-ah', who has proven her strong acting skills.

'The Obedient Killer' is set between the 1970s and 1980s. It tells the turbulent story of Go Dal-bun ('Kim Da-mi'), a sheltered woman whose sole goal in life has been to be a devoted wife, as she enters the job market despite never having planned to work. 'Jo Bo-ah' will play Lee Hwa-ra, a key figure deeply entangled with protagonist Go Dal-bun and known by the code name 'Miss Lee', a role expected to heighten the drama’s tension.

The casting news has drawn even more attention because it comes amid a major personal milestone for 'Jo Bo-ah'. Expecting to give birth in February 2025, she plans to make a successful return to television with 'The Obedient Killer'.

The series has already drawn high expectations ahead of its premiere. It is written by Joo Hwa-mi, who created a distinctive world in the drama 'The Atypical Family,' and directed by Lee Jung-heum, acclaimed for his stylish work on 'Inspector Koo' and 'Nobody Knows.'
