One of the most striking scenes in 〈Odyssey〉 is the one-eyed giant Cyclops that Odysseus and his group encounter in a cave they enter after chasing a ram. With his enormous body blocking the cave like a huge boulder, he devours the humans inside two at a time each day, then sleeps.
