Popularity, How High Will It Rise? <K-Pop Demon Hunters> OST Achieves No. 1 on Spotify US Chart!

The original soundtrack of the Netflix original animated film <K-Pop Demon Hunters>, based on K-pop, has achieved remarkable success on global music charts, once again proving the influence of K-pop.

On the 4th (local time), the OST 'Your Idol' from <K-Pop Demon Hunters> topped the 'Daily Top Songs' chart on the global music platform Spotify in the US.

Until now, only three K-pop songs have reached No. 1 on the Spotify US chart: 'Seven' by BTS's Jungkook, 'Who' by the same group's Jimin, and 'APT.' by BLACKPINK's Rosé. Considering that BTS's 'Dynamite' reached No. 3 as the highest record for K-pop groups, this achievement is even more noteworthy.

Other OSTs from <K-Pop Demon Hunters> also swept the upper ranks of the US Spotify chart. 'Golden' came in at No. 2, securing the top 2 alongside 'Your Idol', while 'How It's Done' ranked 8th and 'Soda Pop' reached 10th, marking an impressive entry of 4 songs into the top 10.

This work is a musical animation featuring the popular girl group Huntress, who protects the human world from evil spirits. The story depicts Huntress competing with the boy group Lion Boys, born from the world of evil spirits, and uncovering their identities.

In the work, 'Your Idol' and 'Soda Pop' are introduced as songs by Lion Boys, while 'Golden' and 'How It's Done' are presented as songs by Huntress.

The production of the OST involved many of the K-pop industry's leading hitmakers. Star producer Teddy, who created music for BIGBANG and BLACKPINK, along with composers from The Black Label such as Kush and Vince, contributed to enhancing the quality of the work.

The OST album of <K-Pop Demon Hunters> has already reached No. 8 on the US Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200'. Additionally, the included tracks 'Your Idol' and 'Golden' simultaneously entered the US Billboard singles chart 'Hot 100' and the UK Official singles chart 'Top 100'.
