Actress Park Bo-young shared her thoughts on being selected as a 'Beckdelian'.

For Beckdel Day 2025, actress Park Bo-young from 〈Our Unwritten Seoul〉 was selected for the Beckdelian series category. Park Bo-young expressed, "I believe I received this award thanks to the love and support from many people," adding, "It is especially meaningful and joyful to receive this award at Beckdel Day, which supports women's stories."

The content festival 'Beckdel Day 2025' (hosted by DGK (Korean Directors Guild) | sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Korean Film Council) reflects on gender equality representation through Korean films and series and contributes to cultural diversity. On the 14th, they announced the four categories of the series section 'Beckdelian' that selects this year's figures following the 'Beckdel Choice 10'.

In 〈Our Unwritten Seoul〉, actress Park Bo-young played two characters, 'Unknown' and 'Future'. Including the roles they play of each other, it totals four roles for one person. Park Bo-young challenges herself with top-level acting using meticulously calculated techniques. Judge Lee Hwa-jung, a programmer for Beckdel Day, commented, "〈Our Unwritten Seoul〉 is a comprehensive version of the actress Park Bo-young we have known so far and a signal that gauges the expanded future of the actress," adding, "The energy of the woman 'Unknown', who had to disconnect herself from the world, powerfully conveyed the support for her identical twin 'Future', who is trying to build walls against the world."

With 20 years since her debut, Park Bo-young in 〈Our Unwritten Seoul〉 perfectly proves that her acting is based on solid internal strength that does not stop at technique, and that detail emerges when power is a prerequisite. When asked where she thinks the characters and the work showed gender equality, Park Bo-young explained, "The two sisters 'Yumi-rae' and 'Yumi-ji' thought they knew each other well, but they actually did not know each other well, and I think the character who leads their issues through subjective choices without relying on anyone attracted my heart." She expressed her support for the upcoming Beckdel Day 2025, saying, "I will show good appearances through various works in the future."

Beckdel Day 2025 will be held from September 6 to 7 at KU Cinematheque.
