'Detective Conan: The Truth of 17 Years Ago' Main Trailer Released!

〈Detective Conan: The Truth of 17 Years Ago〉 is a mystery detective animation surrounding the legendary long-term article from 17 years ago, which remains an unsolved case, and the murder case of an American tycoon involving the black organization’s second-in-command ‘Rum’, the ‘Kuroda’ inspector from the Metropolitan Police Department, and Conan. As expectations for the limited domestic release grow, the long-awaited main trailer has been unveiled.

The released main trailer opens with Conan and Haibara finding a strange connection between the murder case from 17 years ago and the present. It features the poison APTX4869 (Apotoxin 4869) that turned the protagonist Shinichi into Conan. The name of the victim from the 17-year-old murder case, ‘Haneda Koji’, is written two lines below ‘Kudo Shinichi’ on the list of those who took the drug, which was developed by Haibara. The poison that Shinichi ingested was developed by Haibara during her time in the black organization, and although she took the same drug to escape the organization, she also shrank into a child’s body due to side effects. Although it is known within the black organization as a perfect crime poison that leaves no trace in the human body after ingestion, it is revealed that it is a project developed under thorough management, as they keep a list of those who were given this drug, raising curiosity about the true purpose of the drug that the black organization has been trying to create over the years. The second-in-command of the organization, Rum, is also shown with a sly smile aiming for the drug, drawing attention to whether the true nature of the organization will be revealed in ‘Detective Conan: The Truth of 17 Years Ago’.

Three characters intertwined around this case, the Kuroda inspector from the Metropolitan Police Department, Rum from the black organization, and Conan’s school homeroom teacher Wakasa, appear, while the seemingly unrelated three people are connected through the character Haneda Koji, amplifying expectations for what kind of suspense will unfold. Although Wakasa is a clumsy character, she hides monstrous strength and seems to avoid Kuroda, who appears to recognize her, stimulating curiosity about her hidden past. Additionally, an art visual expressing the silhouettes of the main characters in line art appears, further enhancing the mysterious atmosphere of the film.
