Joining this effort were director Ari Aster, who stated he was inspired by 〈Save the Earth!〉, and his production partner Lars Knudsen, who came on board as co-producers. Director Ari Aster recommended 〈Save the Earth!〉 to Will Tracy, the writer of the HBO series 〈Succession〉 and the film 〈The Menu〉, and Will Tracy adapted the original interestingly to fit modern contexts, completing a powerful and dense script in just three weeks. With the prominent American distributor Focus Features joining, Yorgos Lanthimos was confirmed as the director in 2024, and his persona, Emma Stone, and Jesse Plemons were cast as leads, completing the final puzzle of 〈Bugonia〉 and establishing it as a highly anticipated film for 2025.
