'I Am Solo' Season 28 Sets Record with Six Couples Born in Final Selection

ENA and SBS Plus's 'I Am Solo' Season 28 set a record for the most couples ever by producing six pairs during the final selection on November 12. The special 100-minute broadcast of 'I Am Solo' Season 28 featured a happy ending with six couples choosing each other: Young-soo-Jeong-sook, Young-ho-Ok-soon, Young-cheol-Young-ja, Sang-cheol-Soon-ja, Gwang-soo-Jeong-hee, and Gyeong-soo-Young-sook.

Season 28, a special for single parents, garnered high interest from the start, with popular male contestant Young-soo at the center of a fierce competition between Jeong-sook and Hyun-sook. In the final selection, Young-soo and Jeong-sook chose each other, becoming a couple, while MC Song Hae-na expressed her shock, saying, "This is so shocking, it’s unbelievable," and MC Lee Yi-kyung praised it as "a record that is hard to break."

Notably, in a live broadcast released after the airing, Sang-cheol and Jeong-sook, who had chosen different partners in the final selection, announced their pregnancy and marriage as they developed into a couple in real life. The production team reported that one couple from Season 28 is pregnant and has named the baby Nasol-i. The two met again at a gathering of their peers and nurtured their love, with Jeong-sook stating, "We plan to register our marriage this year, and we are also preparing for the ceremony." Sang-cheol agreed, saying, "We will proceed right away."

Among the six couples formed in the final selection, four couples are continuing their relationships in real life: Young-ho-Ok-soon, Gwang-soo-Jeong-hee, Young-cheol-Young-ja, and Sang-cheol-Jeong-sook. Gyeong-soo-Young-sook did not continue in real life, and Young-soo, Soon-ja, Young-sik, and Hyun-sook are currently single, waiting for good connections.
