Group SEVENTEEN's main vocal DK and Seungkwan are forming a new unit and will release their mini album 'Soya Song' on January 12 next year.
The agency Pledis Entertainment revealed the trailer for 'Soya Song' titled 'An Ordinary Love' on the official HYBE Labels YouTube channel at midnight on the 17th.
The trailer contains the story of lovers on different trajectories. Following DK's inability to hang up a call that goes unanswered, the time shared between him and his partner is depicted as if they are in different worlds even within the same space. Objects scattered around, such as withered plants and dried fruits, seem to reflect their relationship.
DK's monotonous daily life gains new tension with an unexpected meeting. Seungkwan appears as a part-time worker. He recalls scenes of past love while looking at a comic book brought by a customer. Just as he is immersed in warm but simple memories, he hurriedly tries to hand over the book but ends up dropping one. Seungkwan's hurried departure after the customer creates curiosity about the album story, intersecting with the title of the comic book 'Blue'.
The album title 'Soya Song' means 'A Love Song Sung at Night' (Serenade). DK and Seungkwan have completed an album filled with winter emotions by unfolding all processes between meeting and parting through their own emotional storytelling. The new release is expected to evoke deep empathy and emotional resonance from everyone by capturing various moments of the most ordinary love, from boredom and disconnection to new beginnings.
DK and Seungkwan have been recognized for their outstanding vocal abilities by consistently presenting group albums, solo songs, and OSTs from SEVENTEEN. The two have previously worked together as members of the unit BooSeokSoon, and this marks their official unit debut together.
