〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 has surpassed 500 million views.
On December 24, Netflix announced through its official SNS channel that 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 has surpassed 500 million views. Along with a congratulatory image for surpassing 500 million views, Netflix expressed gratitude to viewers with the statement, "The spirit of the hunt is being upheld today as well. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the 500 million views."
〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 is a Netflix original produced by Sony Pictures Animation, and it has garnered much attention as the first overseas animation based on Korean K-Pop culture. It depicts the events that unfold when the five-member boy group 'Saja Boys' appears before the hunter and K-Pop idol group 'HUNTR/X' who are tasked with stopping the evil spirits and threats to humanity.
Despite the somewhat unfamiliar subject matter, it realistically and humorously reflects Korean culture, and the insertion songs featuring Korean or Korean-American artists have become hits, establishing it as Netflix's top blockbuster. Within 90 days of its release, it surpassed 300 million views, not only recording the highest view count among all movies released on Netflix but also exceeding the view count of the seemingly unbreakable 〈Squid Game〉 Season 1.
