⬦ "Ten times harder than being out of the water"… Extreme underwater action
On the 22nd, Kim Da-mi, who met at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, began, "〈The Great Flood〉 was the hardest work I've done so far." In this new film by director Kim Byung-woo, Kim Da-mi particularly expressed her astonishment at the difficulty of underwater filming.
Kim Da-mi recalled, "The space of water had many environments that I couldn't control, and the physical exhaustion was really great." She continued, "Underwater filming was at least ten times harder than filming above water. For a while after filming, I hated water and didn't go near it even when I went out to play."
〈The Great Flood〉 is a disaster blockbuster that starts with the premise of humanity facing the end of days due to a massive flood that submerges high-rise apartments. Kim Da-mi showcased intense action throughout the film, being swept away by waves as tall as houses, rescuing her son from underwater, and swimming out after falling into a puddle that filled the apartment complex.
⬦ "Kwon Eun-sung, who said he would diet because he was afraid I would be heavy"… The moment that awakened maternal love

In addition to the physical burden, acting maternal love as an unmarried woman who had never experienced it was quite a challenge. Kim Da-mi recalled, "The biggest concern I had after receiving the script was the point of being a mother. I felt it was difficult to express the love for a child."
However, seeing friends around her who had already experienced childbirth and parenting made her think, 'It's not an awkward age to become a mother.'
In particular, the actor playing her son, Jae-in, Kwon Eun-sung, naturally drew out her affectionate feelings with his lovely appearance and actions. Kim Da-mi laughed, saying, "There are many scenes where I run holding Eun-sung, and he said he would eat less and diet because he was afraid he would be heavy when I picked him up."
In the movie's setting, Anna is not someone who skillfully plays the role of a mother from the beginning, but a character who grows her maternal love over time. Kim Da-mi shared, "I think I gradually learned a mother's heart like Anna. After filming, I hugged Eun-sung and said, 'Thank you so much.'"
⬦ "The script felt like a math formula… As for preferences? I hope you see it as a new attempt"

After its release on Netflix on the 19th, online reactions were mixed with praise for its 'fresh attempt' and comments like 'I don't understand what it means.' While the introduction had the framework of a disaster movie, the story attempted to mix drama and time loop genres as it progressed.
Kim Da-mi expressed that when she first received the script, it felt like a 'math formula.' "At first, the script was very difficult. I think we discussed the script with the director for almost an hour when I arrived on set in the morning," she shared.
She thought it might feel somewhat difficult for the audience as well, but stated, "I didn't expect it to be this polarizing." She continued, "I felt that there are really diverse perspectives. While it may feel unique and difficult due to the overlap of various genres, I hope you see it as a work that made a new attempt."
