〈The Great Flood〉 has garnered attention for its polarizing reactions.

The Netflix original 〈The Great Flood〉 tells the story of Koo Anna (Kim Dami), who must survive in a world engulfed by a catastrophic flood, and Son Hee-jo (Park Haesoo), who heads to a flooded apartment to rescue her. The film shocked viewers with its unique setting and development within the disaster blockbuster genre.

As a result, 〈The Great Flood〉 caught the attention of global audiences beyond Korea. According to the streaming aggregation site 'FlixPatrol', 〈The Great Flood〉 launched worldwide on December 19 and achieved the No. 1 spot in Netflix's global movie rankings for three days immediately after its release. It ranked No. 1 in 71 out of the 92 countries where Netflix is available.

However, despite this good news, public reactions were mixed. The Rotten Tomatoes scores, both the critic's tomato score and the audience's popcorn score, were notably low. The tomato score was 58% (based on 12 reviews), receiving what is known as a 'rotten' rating, while the popcorn score was 43% (based on over 100 reviews), indicating that the popcorn bucket was spilled. Despite its box office success, it remains uncertain how the 〈The Great Flood〉 craze will continue given the low ratings.
