Online video service Wavve has unveiled its new content lineup targeting 2026, signaling a seismic shift in the OTT market. Next year, Wavve plans to focus on expanding proven franchise entertainment and producing large-scale dramas through strategic collaborations with broadcasters, leveraging its unique genre differentiation and overwhelming casting.

Entertainment: A Strong Lineup Penetrating 'Dopamine' and 'Social Controversy'

The key words for Wavve's entertainment strategy in 2026 are 'fandom' and 'controversy'. Reality shows that have sparked strong fandom by raising social issues are making a grand return.

The first highly anticipated work is the 〈Blood Game〉 series, which recorded the top spot in TV-OTT integrated buzz. The upcoming 〈Blood Game X〉 (tentative title), armed with a more intense and cunning psychological battle, is set to be released in June next year, garnering high expectations from survival genre fans. Following that, in September, the critically acclaimed 〈Ideological Verification Zone: The Community〉, which sharply illuminated ideological conflicts in Korean society and won the Best Picture Award at the Blue Dragon Series Awards, will return for Season 2, embarking on another bold social experiment.

Additionally, in March, a reality game show 〈Betting on Facts〉 that seeks the truth amid fake news will launch, and starting in January, Wavve's unique 'Queer Universe' lineup will be further strengthened with shows like 〈Others' Love Season 4〉 and 〈Stand By Me〉, which deals with the love lives of bisexual individuals.

Drama: A Harmony of Major Works Starring Top Stars like IU and Byun Woo-seok and Original Thrillers

In the drama sector, a glamorous lineup has been established through strategic collaborations with terrestrial broadcasters.

The most anticipated work in the first half of the year is undoubtedly the MBC 〈21st Century Grand Lady〉, starring IU and Byun Woo-seok. Set against the backdrop of a constitutional monarchy in South Korea, this work depicts the romance of a chaebol heiress breaking class barriers, already capturing the attention of global fans with just the casting news. Additionally, in January, the legal drama 〈Judge Lee Han-young〉 (MBC) starring Ji Sung and the romance 〈My Dear Thief〉 (KBS) featuring Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min will follow.

Wavve's original investment projects are also solid. In February, the mystery revenge thriller 〈Reverse〉, starring Seo Ji-hye and Go Soo, will deepen the genre's appeal, and in the second half of the year, a grand historical drama 〈Munmu〉 (KBS), boasting a glamorous cast including Lee Hyun-wook, Jang Hyuk, and Park Sung-woong, will depict the grand narrative of the unification of the Three Kingdoms.

Documentary and Year-End Specials: The Combination of Journalism and Entertainment

Wavve continues to stand out in crime tracking content. In January, it will exclusively release the crime psychology analysis documentary 〈Read〉, and in May, it plans to delve into the murder case of Tak Myung-hwan with 〈Cult Hunter〉 (tentative title), and in July, it will enhance the depth of journalism with the more powerful 〈Evil Report Season 3〉.

Ahead of the full reveal of the new year's lineup, Wavve will exclusively broadcast the 〈2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA2025)〉 on the 20th and release the complete version of the disaster drama 〈Concrete Market〉 series on the 23rd, intensifying its efforts to seize the year-end market.
