
With the release of 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' Season 2 set for February 27, 2026 (Friday), the production of an Apple TV MonsterVerse world expansion spin-off series, starring Wyatt Russell as the main character 'Lee Show' and serving as executive producer, has been confirmed, generating buzz.
This upcoming work, which will depict the backstory of American Army officer 'Lee Show', features Wyatt Russell reprising his role as 'Lee Show' from 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters', with Emmy-nominated writer and producer Joby Harold participating as showrunner. Under a newly announced overall deal with Legendary Television, Joby Harold will oversee not only the existing titans that fans are excited about but also new titans appearing in the Apple TV MonsterVerse franchise.

The spin-off, starring and produced by Wyatt Russell, is set against the backdrop of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States in 1984, focusing on the story of American agent 'Lee Show' undertaking a secret mission deep into enemy territory to prevent the Soviet Union from unleashing a new giant titan to bring down America.
This spin-off is expected to join the lineup of Apple TV original series dealing with the MonsterVerse from Legendary Entertainment. This lineup includes the globally acclaimed hit 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters', with Joby Harold serving as executive producer. 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' is set to return with its highly anticipated Season 2 on February 27, 2026 (Friday).

Joby Harold from Safehouse Pictures and Tori Tunnell are participating as executive producers, along with Wyatt Russell, Chris Black, Kyle Bradstreet, Alex Boden, Max Borenstein, and Andy Goddard also credited as executive producers. Producers include Kay Vanno, Brian Rogers, and Kenji Okuhira, with Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita from Toho Co., Ltd., the rights holder of the 'Godzilla' character, also serving as executive producers. Toho has provided licensing to Legendary Entertainment for the production of 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' as an extension of their long-standing film franchise collaboration.
