Actress Lee Da-hee has been selected as the sole MC for MBN's 'Cheonhajebbang: Bake Your Dream' (hereafter 'Cheonhajebbang'), the first K-Bakery baking survival program in Korea, which is set to premiere on February 1, 2026. 'Cheonhajebbang' is a massive global survival project where baking masters from around the world gather to compete in their skills.
Lee Da-hee has established her position as an MC by showcasing sophisticated hosting and deep empathy in large-scale survival programs such as Netflix's 'Solo Hell' and Mnet's 'Queendom'. The production team believes that Lee Da-hee is the optimal host to elevate the prestige of K-Bakery on the world stage, and they expect her elegant yet cheerful charm to smoothly lead the intense competition.
A fierce battle for the title of 'Cheonhajebbang King' among 72 bakers from around the world
'Cheonhajebbang' was planned to promote the status of 'K-bread', which has become a cultural trend beyond a simple cooking competition, to the world. A total of 72 participants, from master bakers across the country to overseas pastry chefs, will set aside their nationalities and ranks to compete solely on taste and skill. The final winner will receive extraordinary benefits, including support for launching their personal brand.
This project has garnered significant attention from the production stage, created by a veteran production team known for directing 'Heungbaek Chef', 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator', and 'K-Bakery Global', which leads the global K-Bakery industry.
A 'no competition' lineup of judges that balances expertise and popularity
The lineup of judges is also impressive. Master Lee Seok-won, the youngest baking master in Korea and the executive chef of Daejeon's 'Seongsimdang', pastry chef Kim Na-rae, selected as the 2024 Pastry Chef of the Year by 'Gault & Millau', and Chef Kwon Seong-jun, the winner of 'Heungbaek Chef' and part of 'Napoli Mafia', are set to provide sharp and professional evaluations. Additionally, No Hee-young, known as the Midas of the restaurant industry, and Oh My Girl's Mimi, a representative dessert enthusiast in the entertainment industry, are expected to bring a popular perspective as well.
Lee Da-hee expressed her excitement through her agency, stating, "I am thrilled to take on the role of a bridge to promote K-Bakery at a time when K-content and K-food are gaining attention," and added, "I will convey the skills and genuine stories that the participants have built up to the viewers well."
MBN's ambitious project 'Cheonhajebbang' is set to showcase a sweet yet fierce baking war every Sunday night at 10 PM starting February 1.
