Netflix 'Single's Inferno 5' to be Released on the 20th... "The War of the Teto Girls, Pure Dopamine"

Netflix's popular dating reality program 〈Single's Inferno〉 is returning with Season 5 on the 20th. At the press conference held on the 14th at a hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, the production team and panel introduced the features and highlights of this season.

Set on a remote island called 'Hell Island' where couples must form to escape, 〈Single's Inferno〉 has consistently received love since its first season in 2021, producing popular participants like Dex and basketball player Lee Kwan-hee. This is the first time Netflix has produced a Korean entertainment program for five seasons.

Dex, a former special forces member and broadcaster who gained great popularity in Season 2, expressed his anticipation for the new season. "There are several participants who could threaten my spot in 〈Single's Inferno 5〉. I was curious about where they found such characters," he said, adding, "Although there's a saying that 'the arm bends inward,' this season was more fun than the Season 2 I appeared in." He continued, "I felt that the program is evolving every season."

PD Kim Jae-won explained the program's uniqueness. "〈Single's Inferno〉 is a program where attractive individuals compete for love, and it wouldn't be fun if everyone was just good at something," he said, emphasizing, "The differentiating point is that it's not about individual abilities but the chemistry between two people. When the chemistry between two people bursts, it creates an impact that no individual can stop."

The biggest feature of this season is the active and assertive female participants. PD Park Soo-ji expressed, "If I had to sum up this season in one word, it would be 'the war of the Teto girls (strongly masculine women).' There are so many who charge in like fire that it was confusing whether I was watching 〈Single's Inferno〉 or the dance competition program 〈Street Woman Fighter〉."

Singer Hanhae, who participated as a panelist, also expressed being deeply impressed by the competitive spirit of the female participants. "The competitive spirit of the female contestants was incredible, and I focused on their every glance," he said, adding, "It was interesting to see the participants getting emotional during arguments and then regretting, 'I should have said that' after the fight."

Season 5 features the most participants in the series' history, unfolding a variety of narratives. The production team stated that they tried to capture everything from the fresh and exciting feelings of the participants getting to know each other to their genuine and unpretentious sides.

You can expect to see that scene in an interesting way."

The panel expressed satisfaction with the new rules, confidently stating that 〈Single's Inferno〉 will deliver fun that exceeds expectations. Actress Lee Da-hee emphasized, "The production team has awakened and made the direction more intense, and it was pure dopamine," adding, "This will be the season that best reflects the unique color of 〈Single's Inferno〉."
